Food, Days Out and Travel stories from Brighton, London and the Rest of the World

Saturday

Final Fringing weekend and there are still Three Great Pop-up venues to check out - The Warren & Burrow, The Soul Dome and The Spiegeltent & Aperol Spritz

May always passes in a whirl of activity, too much to see and do and never enough time to do any of it.  So I'm grateful for this extended Fringe this year giving me a chance to check out some more stuff at The Warren and the Burrow (behind West Street), the Soul Dome (in Jubilee Square, outside the library) and the Spiegeltent and it's bright orange partner Aperol (in the Old Steine).
To help make things easier, I have chosen a few events that are taking place this weekend in case you fancy a-fringing as I do.

Moonlight Theatre, Pardoner's Tale
at The Burrow @ The Warren
By Moonlight Theatre presents
The Pardoner’s Tale
Winners of Best Theatre Performance at the Brighton Fringe 2012.  By Moonlight Theatre's re-rendering by some accounts is rather violent, filthy and funny.  Remaining faithful to the text, the team play with the story by Chaucer setting it in London's 1960s East-end, a decision you kinda feel the Medieval Master would have approve of.  They are apparently giving out free pizza too.

Sam's of Brighton presents
Spiegel Supper Club
at Spiegeltent
Sam's of Brighton Spiegel Supper Club has been operating throughout Brighton Fringe, where they have transformed The Spiegel Garden's bar tent into a glamping restaurant where you can enjoy a 4 course pre-show dinner. Feast on Warm Crab and Chilli Tartlets and Roast Rump of South Downs Lamb, followed by the perfect English Strawberry Trifle.

A Supper Club booking will also guarantee you a 'queue jump' into the following show in the Spiegeltent.

Lamb mint burgers to go

Sam's of Brighton is an award winning family owned bistro in the heart of Kemp Town village, Brighton. Sam Metcalfe has been serving up great British food to Brighton people for 12 years and he is delighted to be bringing his food to Brighton Fringe and The Famous Spiegel Garden this year.

The 4 course Dinner costs £30 per person, offering a small selection of carefully chosen wines, sparkling wine and champagne, which can be purchased on the night. There are also three fully stocked bars in the Spiegel Garden.

Starters are served promptly at 7pm, so any latecomers will miss what has already been served.

For those not quite up for a 4 course dinner - Sam will also have a stall selling his South Downs Minted Lamb Burgers every festival evening.
